Christmas Is Coming!

Well done to all of the Key Stage 2 children and staff who performed their singing at the Big Switch On last Friday evening – you were all great ambassadars for school, thank you.

Last Friday Sapphire class thoroughly enjoyed working with Andy Townsend and Deacon Jill as part of the Lightworks Project. The children took part in an RE and technology workshop, designing and making a wooden nativity scene and writing about its special significance. Sporting Success!

Congratulations to our indoor athletics team who were enthusiastic and energetic participants at Monday's Sportshall Athletics Competition at Malbank. Everyone who took part in the event tried their hardest, showing great character and sportsmanship and were a real credit to our school.

After all the events were completed and the scores added up, our Year 3/4 team came third and our Year 5/6 team cane second, giving us an overall 2nd place finish – a wonderful achievement.

The results from all events are still being collated, but we know we had 4 3rd place, 6 2nd place and 8 1st
place finished in the Track events. Well done to all involved! Many thanks to all the staff and parents who supported
the teams so well.

Forest Schools – the children in Pearl class have discovered a hedgehog and have decided to make their own hedgehog shelters so that our resident hedgehog has a choice of accommodation for the winter. The entrance is big enough for the hedgehog to enter but not so big that a predator might get in. They cleared the floor, covered the shelter to camouflage it and keep out the weather. They then went on a minibeast hunt to provide the hedgehog with
tasty treats.

Children from every year group arrived for lunch on Thursday wearing their party hats and enjoyed a super feast! We had a wonderful Christmas lunch together with Christmas songs and all staff helping out with serving food duties. I would like to thank all of the kitchen and Mid-Day staff for all of the hard work they put into this event. A special mention must go to Mrs Gavin and Mrs Stubbs who worked so hard to make sure everything was ready for the lunch!
Thank you.
