Children's Mental Health Week

This week is National Children's Mental Health Week. The week is run by a school-based children's mental health charity called Place2Be. As part of this themed week, we have been encouraging the children across school to be Healthy: Inside and Out linked with our school focus on emotional health and wellbeing. Our Assembly on Monday launched the week and explored the theme – encouraging everyone to think about how they look after their bodies and minds. We thought about the steps we have already taken to promote wellbeing within school including 'Our Calm Corners' in classrooms, worry monsters and worry boxes to help children share their concerns and resource boxes available in each classroom.

Praise for SATs results from our MP

We were delighted to receive a letter from our local MP, Antoinette Sandbach, recently praising our school for our end of Key Stage 2 SATs results. Nick Gibb, the Minister of State for School Standards, had alerted Antoinette to the results which we achieved in 2018 and she wrote:

"These results show the amount of effort that has been undertaken by both pupils and staff and your achievements should not be underestimated.
Well done."

This is a fabulous recognition of the achievements of our children and is testament to their hard work and effort and the quality of teaching and learning in our school. Thank you to parents and carers for your support at home and for your ongoing partnership with us to ensure your child achieves the best they can during their time at our school. Well done everyone!
