Congratulations to Mrs Hayward and our Junior Recycling Officers who have recently been successful in reaching the semi-finals of a Junior Recycling officer of the year award run by ANSA. They beat off stiff competition to become shortlisted for the award. The judge visited our school last week and was extremely impressed with their hard work.
This week we have been treated to another tasty treat from our green fingered Garden Club.
Our first crop of lettuce was harvested and used in delicious salad accompaniments for school lunches. Well done to all of the team!
On Wednesday afternoon, Emerald class paid a visit to the Anwyl Homes Heathfields development where the children saw various pieces of plant machinery in action and enjoyed a talk by Anwyl's Health & Safety Manager Steve. The visit was linked to the children's work on the book Demolition Dad and they enjoyed the visit (despite the rainy weather!).
