Every country has a national dish, and for England it's fish and chips, and for Audlem it's Ralph Warburton!

Unfortunately for chippies across the country, the surge in healthier eating over the last few years has reduced sales in fish and chips however fish and chips contains fewer calories than pizza, curry and other takeaway options, so as the WI has a mandate to promote healthy eating, it was unanimously decide that as fish is a brain food, our annual quiz evening would be enhanced by a Fish and Chip supper combined with as much drink as you would like to bring.

Again, the WI also promotes sensible drinking so ensure you only bring your weekly allowance of 14 units, and we would prefer it if you brought the appropriate glasses with you as I'm not very good at drinking out of other people's bottles! It might be a good idea to bring cutlery as well, otherwise your glass might slip out of your hands and we don't have insurance cover for spilt drinks.

Our quizmaster will be the indomitable Ralph Warburton who realises that quizzing, especially live quizzing, is a form of entertainment ... and the QM as the host of this entertainment show is just another entertainer, especially in attention deficit zones such as a team of WI ladies chatting, rather than listening to the questions. As a good host the more he appeals to the participants the better – even when he gets the answers wrong!

Teams will be made up of four people, if you are coming as a pair or singleton (sob) don't worry as we will arrange some teams. We may not be 'Tinder' ( ask your kids ) but we will do our best!

The date for your diary is Thursday 26th October in the Scout and Guide Hall at 7.00 pm.

Finally, and probably most importantly, all the details are on the flyer (linked to the upper right), and if you would like to join us contact Stephanie on 01270 811182 for tickets. I don't get many phone calls so I'll feel temporarily popular.

See you there.
