Audlem Parish Council and the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Committee were delighted to learn that a very positive report had been received from the Independent Examiner, Tim Jones.

Subject to some minor modifications our Neighbourhood Plan will now go to referendum- hopefully sometime in March or early April. This is a clear vindication of the hard work that has been put in by the Steering Committee, the volunteers who have assisted them and the whole community in producing a Plan in a very tight timeframe.

The Examiner wrote: 'I commend the draft NDP for being well written, logical, clear, appropriately concise and intelligible to a reasonably intelligent lay reader with no expertise in town and country planning'

Developers arguments rejected

Interestingly, the Examiner was dismissive of the lengthy (but apparently misinformed) legal arguments put in by Gladman and Barton Willmore. That made very pleasant reading!

Now for the referendum...

It is really important that residents turn out to show their support for their Neighbourhood Plan when the referendum takes place. More information on that will follow in the near future. In the meantime, many thanks to all involved in identifying our community's wishes and encapsulating them in a Neighbourhood Plan that meets the high standards required.
