This information is from Patricia Main

The 16th Century Coole Pilate poet

Isabella Whitney was the sister of Jeffrey Whitney, poet, who inspired the name The Phoenix for the Inn which is now the cycle shop and went to school in Audlem before the present 'Old Grammar School' was built!

The biography of this fascinating poet together with an evaluation of her work has now been finished and published and I thought it might be of interest.
