Lyrical Literacy – Perfect Poetry!

We have had a wonderful week of poetry filled activities during our Literacy themed Week in school this week. Mrs Heathcock, our Literacy Subject Leader, launched the week by sharing poems read confidently and clearly by Lily Serif and Katie Francis in our assembly on Monday and children have been involved in a range of poetry activities throughout the week.

FASA

FASA's first fundraising event of the school year is next week's Pub Quiz at the Lord Combermere on Tuesday. The quiz begins at 9pm and all proceeds will go to FASA and their support for projects in school.

Spooky Night

A reminder that Spooky Night will be held at the Scout and Guide hall on Sunday 2nd November this year. The EYFS and Key Stage 1 disco will run from 4pm -5.15pm and the Key Stage 2 discos will run from 5.30pm-7pm. Look out for more details soon.

We are a Heartstart School!

I am pleased to announce that we have joined Heartstart; a British Heart Foundation initiative that aims to saves lives in the community by teaching adults and children emergency life support skills. As part of this important work Sue Satchithananda will be training some of our staff in these skills and later this year some of the children in school will also be trained.

Harvest Service

Our Harvest Service will take place on Thursday 2nd October. The service will begin at 2pm and will finish at approximately 2.30pm. Parents/carers are invited to join us at the church. If you are able to help to walk the children down to church from school at 1:30pm please let the school office know. Children will return to school for 2:30pm and will be picked up at the normal time at the end of the school day. I look forward to sharing this special occasion with you and your children.

Oxtail and Trotter Sausage Competition

Audlem's butchers, Oxtail and Trotters ran a competition to create a sausage recipe and Annie Goodwin's (Y6) recipe has made it into the final three! There is a tasting day at the butchers on Saturday October 4th so if you are passing and you fancy sampling some new recipe sausages, pop in and vote for your favourite one! Annie's Audlem Boater's Banger contains cranberries, Cheshire cheese and chives. The winner has the opportunity to make their own sausages with the butcher.
