We all paused to reflect on the word Peace and how we can bring peace into our own lives and others as part of World Peace Day yesterday. Children across school shared special class worship focused on this theme and shared their thoughts and ideas for making our world a peaceful place for us all to share.
Throughout school, each child has been writing their own prayers for their class prayer book and I have been delighted to see the thought and care they have given to this important task.
As part of yesterday's special day, Mrs Robinson-Cartlidge and Mrs Gavin, our Catering team, prepared a special themed lunch which was thoroughly enjoyed by us all!
We were joined by Neil and Judy from ADAS on Monday as they announced the winners of the Runner Bean Growing competition. There were lots of stories of growing and measuring of beans over the summer break and it was wonderful to see how proud the children were of the results of their green fingered work! Congratulations to all of the winners. Thank you to all of the families who took part in this special competition and to ADAS for organising it.
Green fingers have been at work on our school raised beds again as the Gardening Club have harvested a wonderful crop of carrots, onions and beetroot this week!! Mrs Robinson-Cartlidge and Mrs Gavin have been turning the fruits of the Gardening Club's labour into treats for us all at lunch times this week – a wonderful team effort – well doneeveryone!
