Latest Barn Owl Newsletter

Many thanks to Mike Harthern who has provided us with a copy of the Latest Mid Cheshire Barn Owl Nesletter.

The summary for 2014 – it has been a very good year

• We have 87 recorded breeding sites of which 83 provided successful broods
• 349 chicks were identified with 308 being ringed
• the above provided a healthy 4+ chicks per brood
• there are now 1064 Barn Owl boxes erected or located over the last 14 years in Mid / South Cheshire
• we expect the overall figure to be 130 breeding pairs with 500+ chicks
