Diamond class treated us to a wonderful class assembly on Monday. It was based on their topic, World War 2 and they shared some wonderful art, singing and descriptive writing which showed just how much they have learned about this topic so far. They also shared a special song they had learnt by Vera Lynn. Thanks to Mrs Bird and the children for sharing such an interesting and enjoyable assembly.
As part of our work on Remembrance, the children from Diamond class took part in some special workshops at Audlem Methodist Church yesterday. The children took part in a Hope Journey which recalled the events of World War 1 and subsequent conflicts. They learnt about life in the trenches and one the front line and reflected on the bravery and experiences of people who experienced this first hand.
It has been a busy sporting week for school. On Monday Mrs Stoker took our basketball team to a competition at Brine Leas School. The standard was very high and the children played exceptionally well, displaying good team work.
