Sharing Our Work and Working Together to Be the Best We Can Be!

It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers attending our Parent Teacher Meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thank you for your support with these meetings; they are a vital part of our home school partnership. I would also like to thank all of the Teaching Assistants who volunteered to cover childcare for these evenings.

I know some of you took the opportunity to talk to the Governors who were present on both evenings, thank you for the feedback and thoughts you shared with them; working closely with Governors, parents, staff and children we continue to see our school go from strength to strength.

Amethyst Class delighted parents and carers with their energetic 'Barney Bear' performance yesterday afternoon! The children sang a range of entertaining, energetic songs and thrilled us all with their enthusiasm and smiles. Thank you to Mrs Swan and the EYFS team for preparing the children for this performance so well and many thanks to all of the children for making us all smile!

Our Book Fair was well supported in school, many thanks to all of the families who have visited the Fair. School will receive a percentage of the profits from the Fair as books, enabling us to provide more resources for classrooms. Proceeds from this Fair will provide Maths dictionaries and spelling resources for classes.

This week's Praise Book children are:
Mrs Maughan's Class – Olivia Huntbach
Mrs Hayward's Class – Jasmine Baddeley
Mrs Richardson's and Mrs Burgess' Class – Amelia Thomas
Mr Perry's Class – Skye Howell
Mr Davies' Class – Maia Lloyd Beeston

FASA
FASA's Easter fundraising event will take place on Wednesday 29 th March after school from 3.15pm – 5pm. All children are invited to come to school in non-uniform on Friday 17th March to donate chocolate or bottle prizes for the Tombola stall.
Thank you to all of the families who have donated to our Rag Bag Bin recently. Remember, any old clothes, shoes or covers that are donated are converted to money for school resources.

ABC Childcare
ABC are now taking bookings for the Easter holidays. ABC will be closed on Good Friday and Bank Holiday Monday but open over the rest of the Easter break. They are also taking bookings for children that are due to begin pre-school after Easter. There will be a Stay and Play session for parents and carers next Friday (17th March) from 2-3pm for any new children and parents that are looking for pre-school provision. This will be a great opportunity to find out more about ABC's quality provision and everything they have to offer.

On Friday 24th March they are holding a 'Pirate and Princess Party' to raise money for Red Nose Day. For more information please call ABC on 01270 748081.

After School Clubs – we need your feedback
We have been concerned about the number of undersubscribed after school clubs during this year and are keen to hear your views about this provision in order to inform our future planning of clubs. We have sent out a brief survey in school bags this week and ask for completed surveys to be returned from Friday 17th March. Thank you for your help with this.

Parking and Road Markings outside School
Many of you will be aware that I have been working closely with PCSO Nick Jarvis over recent years to petition for the road markings outside our school to be remarked as the current markings are faded causing a risk to children through unsafe parking as well as inconvenience to our school neighbours through inconsiderate parking. I am delighted to inform you that the Local Authority have repainted the school markings this week and are due to discuss possible additional parking restrictions to this area at their Spring Area Highway Group meeting. I would ask for your cooperation in this matter by following the parking restrictions outside school. I am sending out a Cheshire Constabulary leaflet about the enforcement of parking restrictions with this week's newsletter for your information.

Photograph Menus Now Available Website
Following feedback from parents, we have added copies of the weekly school lunch menus to our website with photographs of each meal to help you discuss the meal options with your child/ren at home. These can be found in the General Information section under School Dinners.

Easter Themed Lunch
Mrs Robinson-Cartlidge and Mrs Gavin will be treating us to another special themed lunch on Wednesday 29th March.
The 'Easter Special' lunch is available for all children to order, even if they usually have a packed lunch from home. The menu for the lunch will be sent home soon, please look out for this. Please send payment of £2.20 in an envelope marked Easter Themed Lunch and your child's name into our School Office no later than Monday 27th March to order your child a meal on this day.

Easter Service
A reminder that our Easter Service will be held in Church on Friday 31st March at 9.30am. If you are able to help to accompany the children walking to and from Church for the Service, please contact Mrs Howard or Mrs Taylor in the School Office.

Parent View
Many of you will be aware of the online questionnaire called Parent View, which parents and carers can use to give their views about school at any time of the school year. To register and complete the short questionnaire here you simply need to register your email address and create a password. Once your login has been activated, it takes a few minutes to choose answers to 12 short questions about the school, such as the quality of teaching and whether you would recommend the school to other parents. Please remember, you can give your opinion of school through Parent View at any time during the school year. At the time of an inspection, you can refresh or resubmit your views and the facility will overwrite your previous response so that only one 'view' for each parent, per school, is held.

Finally
Thank you to everyone who is supporting the campaign against the proposed national funding formula. I have sent out a summary document of the proposed changes to all families this week – I hope this has been helpful in clarifying the impact the proposed formula would have on our school. A reminder that the consultation closes on 22nd March and can be found here
Remember, you do not need to respond to every question in the consultation. It is recommended that the first 4 questions are responded to as a minimum. The remaining questions can be left blank for submission – part completed responses will still be counted.
