The children enjoyed an engaging theatre production of Charlotte's Web yesterday which is one the focus stories of our Stories and Plays week in school next week. The children were fully engaged and Mrs Burgess and Mr Davies even had cameo roles to play!! Over the next few weeks children across school will be creating pieces of art work and writing inspired by this story and performance. Thank you to Friends for subsidising the cost of this performance so the price per child was much reduced.
On Wednesday a company called GIST visited school and shared an interesting presentation about how to keep safe on the roads and the Green Cross Code. Each class had the opportunity to understand road safety through the eyes of a lorry driver by exploring inside the cab one of GIST's lorries and experienced first hand the view from the driver's seat. The children also learnt a catchy song which is aimed at helping them to remember the key principles of keeping safe on the roads – I am sure many of you will have already heard your child singing this by now!
Children and staff have had a busy time in the first full week of our new school year and we have started our new
topics and learning in earnest. Everyone has continued to work hard, with lots of exciting learning and topics
beginning to show in displays and classrooms across school.
