A busy week for Emerald Class

On Monday afternoon Emerald Class had a vintage cyclist expert came in to talk about how the Victorians introduced cycling. The children were able to examine and watch how an expert can ride a Penny Farthing.

Emerald class treated parents and carers to their class assembly on Tuesday. They shared a 'Day in the Life of Emerald class' which included artwork, singing, historical facts about the Victorians and work on their class book, Charlotte's Web. They impressed everyone with their enthusiasm and knowledge and skills.

Emerald class children enjoyed a visit to Quarry Bank Mill on Friday as part of their topic on Victorians. The children became Victorian History Detectives and went on a tour of the Mill as they were transported back to being a worker in Victorian times. They had the opportunity to handle and investigate a selection of replica Victorian artefacts, they tried on costumes and found out about how the Mill worked. What a wonderful way to bring their topic to life!
