Audlem St James' C of E Primary School recently had an OFSTED inspection.

Following this, the headteacher, Mrs Rebecca Jewitt and the Chair of Governors sent the letter below to parents and carers which has been passed to AudlemOnline for publication.

The OFSTED report (which you can see in full by clicking on the link below the photo) seems to be uniformly complimentary about the school's governance, teaching and performance.

It appears that the primary schooling of Audlem children is in very good hands

Letter from school to parents

Dear Parents and Carers

We are delighted to enclose the report letter from our recent OFSTED inspection. Under the current OFSTED framework schools can receive two types of inspection. A Section 5 inspection, which can lead to a school's grading being changed or a Section 8 inspection, which cannot change a school's grading, but can indicate whether a school's grade should be changed.

Our inspection was a one day Section 8 Inspection. These inspections have four possible outcomes and we are delighted to share with you that our school received the highest possible outcome; that is that we continue to be a 'Good' school and there is strong evidence of marked improvement from our previous inspection indicating that we may be judged as 'Outstanding' at our next Section 5 (two day) inspection. The Inspector has therefore recommended that our school is put forward for a Section 5 inspection within the next two years to secure an 'Outstanding' grading.

This is wonderful news and we are thrilled with the outcome of the inspection as it accurately reflects the many strengths of our school and the hard work of everyone. The report letter highlights our belief that 'every pupil can, and will, succeed' and that our school 'is a school that never stands still or becomes complacent.' Our curriculum and opportunities for learners is also
highlighted, as is our focus 'to promote an enjoyment of life-long learning'. During the inspection the Inspector commented that our school team know exactly how to teach the range of subjects offered and are therefore able to focus on the whole child through our focus on wellbeing and self care threaded throughout our curriculum. As always, the children and their work shone and the inspector was impressed with the way our school is such a wonderful place to learn and grow; where everyone can 'Let their Light Shine'.

We would like to thank the whole staff team, Governors and all parents and carers for their support and positive contributions throughout the inspection and their continuing support in our work in school.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Rebecca Jewitt, Headteacher
Mrs Janet Furber, Chair of Governors
