Audlem WI Guilty as Charged!

March was a Members Meeting, a time for all of us to cross examine and absorb every detail of information that our chosen lucky members, Lin Nicholas and Margaret Wells, care to divulge – this time it was about 'Life on a Scottish Island,' however before their idyllic memories could enthral us, along came two uniformed P.C.S.O's to talk to us about 'Living Safely!'

As they bravely marched into our hallowed hall, silenced reigned and necks turned, with just the odd creak, to take in the sight of two uniformed males marching confidently through the door, showing no signs of fear in facing over 50 WI ladies agog with anticipation!

It's funny what they say about men in uniform – how people think women just can't resist them. The fact is, I think we're just pleased to see a man groomed, bathed, and wearing clothes that fit him! We ladies are like police, we can have all the evidence in the world but we still want a full confession...but more importantly, we know these are men who can follow orders.

Full knowledge of such important details such as we should relax when handcuffs are tight because they're new – they'll stretch out after you wear them awhile and never to say the Chief of Police is a good personal friend of yours as the response will be 'at least you know someone who can post your bail!'
