Last week

,,,it was raining and our usually feral young friends were indoors for a bit and gamely having a go at Human Hungry Hippos. We had one of our delightfully social drop-ins from our local PCSOs who cheered me up no end by getting stuck in with an impromptu game of football and presenting an ace photo opportunity.

Monique has been playing host to some delightful young women from China just recently and they also called in again to indulge in a spot of table tennis and just generally mingle with fellow teens. It all felt very lovely.

No youth club this week

This week on Wednesday 5th July there will be no Youth Club

Heavens above instead

5As will take to the stage with their Summer Comedy, 'Heavens Close'. All Youth Club regulars have kindly been invited to go and see the production on Wednesday (7.45pm start) for their usual £1 subs. That's a great offer because full price tickets are £5. I hope some of you can make it. Remember it's a World Premiere from home grown writing talent Colin Cliffe!

Next week – hula hoops

At Youth Club (12th July) Monique will be armed with hula hoops that have been very generously donated by Peter and Chris Silvester of Audlem Mill shop. I believe that Monique will be tinkering with the hoops to weight them so that she can demonstrate simultaneous hulaing with 5 hoops on each limb, all moving in mesmerising sync. That last bit was a lie, although they are intended for everyone to have a lot of fun with.

Last youth club July 19th

The final thing to note is that on Wednesday 19th July it will be our last session until September and we are repeating our water fest event, 'Bangers & Splash'. The old water slide will be wheeled out, along with lots of evil ways to get yourself and everyone around you very wet. Hot dogs and chips will be served to warm everyone up- it got very cold later on last year. All for just £1 remember. As usual we welcome our new Y6 members and anyone else over 11 who hasn't yet tried us out and would like to.

We will be in our fab new room by the end of the year so get involved now and you can say you supported us when we were nothing but a tuck shop and an expectant smile. One very last thing. WE NEED EMPTY WASHING UP BOTTLES PLEASE!!!! They are better value than a plastic water pistol and far more effective at drenching your opponent. I haven't got so organised as to arrange a drop off point for these but if you have any going begging perhaps you could bring them to our Youth Club session at the Public Hall on Wed 12th July. Obviously that goes double for any Youth Club members who are coming along anyway.

See you soon in a hula hoop.
