Gladman proposals and Planning meeting

The Gladman Developments Ltd plans to build up to 120 homes at Little Heath are earmarked to go before the council's planning committee on August 23rd in less than a month's time.

Viewers of the recent BBC2 series, The Planners, will have noted the relatively large attendance by those interested in each scheme featured in the series at the relevant planning committee meetings. What plans, if any, are being formed in Audlem for 23rd August, we wonder. Will formal verbal objections be given at that meeting and who by? Has the Parish Council any plans in place, perhaps using the excellent objection they have submitted?

Those that attended the planning committee meeting at Market Drayton a few years ago – and more than 600 were there – to protest about the plans for a wind farm at Knighton will recall how a number of councillors clearly changed from being in favour to voting against as they realised the strength of public opinion on the night.

Given that every posted local comment that we have read (and that's virtually all of them) was against the development, perhaps a similar show of public feeling would be appropriate on 23rd August.
