There has been some considerable disquiet recently, expressed in chatbox messages and other comments, about the side-effects of some building work being done in the garden of a house in Cheshire Street.

To get access to the garden, the contractors had taken down the fence between the garden and the wildlife conservation area at the top of Churchfields, and then moved in some digging equipment across the Conservation area itself.

This has left some wheel rut marks along the lefthand side of the Conservation area, and inevitably some earth diggings where the fence was removed.

The attached photos show the site while work was in progress, and again now that work has been completed and the fence re-erected.

It has to be said that, to the untutored eye, very little damage, if any, has been done and what there is will be quickly obliterated by the normal forces of nature. All the main part of the area, where the trees are, appears not be affected at all.

Hopefully, all will be back to normal shortly.
