At the end of January, when these photos were taken, the River Weaver at Audlem was at near record levels at over 2.50m. The flood plain was hard at work and some horses were rescued (although were reported to be perfectly safe on higher ground).

Yesterday, with virtually no rain in a month or more, the Weaver had dropped over 2m to just 0.4m and well below the river's typical level at the bridge over the Weaver on the Whitchurch Road.

The local river level is just one of the useful links you can find on AudlemOnline's Homepage under Transport Links. Others include:

  • the Departure and Arrivals boards at Crewe railway station and Manchester Airport
  • buses serving Audlem
  • Audlem Lass' service schedule
  • information on public transport by local environmental group, ADAPT
  • motorway and major A-roads information
  • (albeit it's not Transport) BT's phonebook.
