The following letter has been sent to all parents and carers at St James School

Dear Parents and Carers

At a meeting on March 26th between the Trustees of Audlem Tree House, the Headteacher and other representatives of Audlem St James Primary School, the conclusion was reached that Tree House cannot continue indefinitely to operate in its current form.

The on-going financial loss on Tree House operations could only be remedied by an unacceptably large rise in the fees to individual users, or by a considerable growth in the numbers of children making use of Tree House.

It is therefore with great sadness that we confirm that the services offered by Tree House for many years will not be available after the end of the Summer term in July 2013.

Further investigations will be made into the viability of keeping the existing Tree House building and playground equipment on a care and maintenance basis, and discussions will be held next month with Cheshire East about how this might be achieved.

This would allow all parties to review the situation a year from now to see whether circumstances have changed so that a viable way forward for Tree House can be found.

Audlem St James' School are currently investigating options for the provision of After School care from September 2013. Parents will continue to be kept informed about outcomes of these investigations throughout the Summer Term.

The letter is signed by Ralph Warburton (Chair of Trustees, Audlem Tree House) and Janet Furber (Chair of Governors, Audlem St James Primary School)
