After recent strong performances, the 1st XI, weakened because of holiday and other commitments, travelled to Langley and faced a strong home team. Audlem's skipper, Steve Swallow, won the toss and opted to bat first, only to be adjudged lbw on the third ball of the innings. Dave Parry (70) once again came to Audlem's rescue with another outstanding innings, sharing in two good stands with Dave Baxter and John Wainwright. Audlem eventually scored a respectable 160 for 9 in their 48 overs.

When Langley replied, youngster Oliver Burney – playing his first league game for the 1st XI – took a wicket in his first over. Langley's batsmen rallied, however, and won the match by 6 wickets. Following his high-scoring innings, Parry was the leading wicket taker with 2 for 38. The result gave Audlem 10 valuable points to Langley's 20.

The 2nd XI's scheduled home match was conceded by Langley, who failed to raise a side. This gave Audlem 25 points, whilst Langley didn't get any.

This Saturday the 1st XI are away to Saughall whilst the 2nd XI are at home to Mossley.
