As many have noticed, some of the parking spaces recently painted by Cheshire East's contractors might require drivers to switch to Fiat 500s, or even smaller conveyances, if they want to park and then open their car doors to get out.
How some spaces were painted well below the statutory 2.4m width is unknown to all but the contractors. The good news is that they are returning tomorrow (Saturday) to rectify the job.
This will almost certainly mean restricted parking in sections of the car park for a time on Saturday.
Mind you, talking about line painting mysteries, the news from Swindon this week where contractors painted double yellow lines along an alley just a metre wide – and even better, painted both sides of the alley just to make sure – has hit the national headlines. Our second photo shows why.
