Audlem residents could get a new local FM radio station to tune into.
The Crewe and Nantwich community station RedShift Radio has made a formal bid to Ofcom for a full time FM licence.
If it gets the green light it could attract thousands of listeners across South Cheshire.
The not-for-profit organisation is just over three year old and has three paid staff and more than 70 volunteers.
RedShift has a varied programming schedule that covers music, business, sports and charities.
A decision on the licence bid is expected by the end of January 2014.
Local organisations are encourages to sponsor the station as they will need to raise over £100,000 in their first year of FM broadcasting.
