Newsletter continued from yesterday :
Lent Challenge
All children have been given a Lent Challenge sheet this week. The sheet outlines various ways we can prepare for Easter during Lent, reminding children of the small things that can make a difference.
We have spoken to the children about these sheets in relation to the start of Lent next week and we are encouraging them to 'take the challenge' and see if they can complete some of the challenges on the sheet between now and Easter. We have also put the challenge sheet onto our website, if you would like other family members to take part!
Staffing Update
We have welcomed Mrs Burgess back to school today after her maternity leave; she will be working with Pearl class and leading Key Stage 1 interventions and support for the remainder of the year.
We also welcomed Miss Phillips to school this week; she is completing her PGCE training at our school and will be working alongside Miss Dhana after half term.
I am delighted to inform you that Mrs McKee will continue to work with us after half term, she will be working with Mrs Stoker in Amber class to support Maths and Literacy each morning as well as teaching Diamond class during Mrs Heathcock's release time each week.
Internet, Gaming and Social Network Safety
Headteachers from across the Nantwich Partnership of schools have sought advice about safe use of computer games and social network/messaging sites after a number of reports of children using these have come to our attention across the cluster of schools.
I am attaching a letter from the NEP (Nantwich Education Partnership) highlighting some of these issues and value your support with this.
Ceilidh for Mend Our Mum
A Ceilidh to raise funds for Mend Our Mum will be held on the 14th March at the Audlem Public Hall from 8pm-11.30pm. The music will be provided by a local Audlem Ceilidh band 'The Crofters and Friends' and there will be a Caller who will guide everyone through the steps.
Tickets cost £10 and are on sale at Williams of Audlem, Audlem Post Office and via Rachel on 01270 811320. This special event includes a complimentary glass of wine and welsh cake on arrival, a bar, tea and coffee and nibbles. It promises to be a fun evening for all and a fantastic way to support Mend Our Mum.
School Phone Number
Please be aware, our school telephone number is linked to Cheshire East's phone system and appears as a 0845 number when dialled out, not 01270. Please bear this in mind when answering or ignoring calls during the school day as it is vital we are able to contact parents and carers with messages from school.
Finally
As we come to the end of this half term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support with all of the work and projects we have in school. The time and commitment our families, staff and children give to the work of school helps to provide a stimulating and exciting environment for all of our children to thrive in.
Please remember that Monday 23rd February is an INSET day and children return to school on Tuesday 24 th February. I hope you all have a lovely half term and I look forward to welcoming you back to school after the break.
