The Parish Council has sent in its official response to the invitation from Gladman to give views on the possible development at Little Heath, as follows.

The Parish Council are elected representatives of the village. We recently held a public meeting to ascertain the views of the village on this proposal and this response details those views.

The time allowed for an initial response was on an unreasonable timescale. However, our response is as follows:

The objections to the proposal include:

  • The site is not in the SHLAA.
  • The proposal is not compatible with the Village Design Statement.
  • The site is outside the settlement boundary.
  • The proposal is not supported by the results of a recent local housing needs survey.
  • There are far too many houses for one development and at too high a density.
  • The local infrastructure would not currently support such a development.

The Parish Council will rigorously oppose any speculative proposal of an opportunistic nature.
