Parish Council News

This is a summary of some of the items discussed at the Parish Council meeting on Monday, October 5th.
The full minutes of the meeting will appear on the Parish Council part of the website in due course.

Councillors

There has been a considerable change in councillors recently (see the article on AudlemOnline here).
At present, including the latest new members co-opted at this meeting, there are seven councillors out of a potential twelve.
The Council therefore wishes to start a major drive to recruit new members.
It would be pleased to hear from anyone who might consider becoming involved, and is particularly keen to find some younger members of the community who could play their part.

Cheshire Local Plan consultation

The latest revised version is due to be published soon for consultation.

Parish Council Grants

• The PC decided to grant £5000 towards the cost of the Town Hall Refurbishment Project, This is a major contribution towards the cost of the redecoration (i.e. repainting) of all the rooms in Town Hall, including the Main Hall itself.
• A grant of £1500 has been granted to the Wheelyboat project.

Turnpike Field

Improvements are being considered to the entrance to the Field in Green Lane

• A height barrier to keep out large vehicles
• A recessed entrance so that vehicles entering the field can stop off the road while opening the gate.

Winter Road Gritting

Cheshire East are to consult about winter gritting, and the PC wants to ensure that Coole Lane (used by school buses) is gritted through the icy weather..
