Saturday 9th Long ARS Walk

The next Audlem Ramblers (ARS) Long Walk is on Saturday 9th August lead by Peter Jackson. Meet at 08.30 in the Town Hall Car Park.

The Ellesmere Meander, which is one of our popular walks, is 8 miles long with no stiles, dog friendly and mainly flat ground. We park in the Town Centre Car Park, where there are also public toilets available.

We first head for The Wharf, and from there we walk down the Towpath of the Shropshire Union Canal to Blakemere, and then onwards to Colemere for refreshments.

Next, we go through Yell Wood and back onto the canal until we reach Lyneal Lane and follow this lane to Welshampton, then across fields with a stop for lunch. After lunch we carry on to Crimps Farm and the Mere, and then back to the Car Park.

Town Centre Car Park is on Cross Street SY12 0AW and is 3.20 for the full day.

Hope to see you next week – Pete Jackson

NB. All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.

Non-members of Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
