The off-shore tax efficient financial arm of AudlemOnline, Aldelyme Property Portfolio Inc (APPI), is pleased to announce an attractive investment opportunity that may interest our many readers.

A planning application, following the required consultation, is to be submitted for a 4 hectare (9 acre) field a few score miles to the east of Audlem. For security reasons the exact location will only be disclosed to potential investors.

The field will accommodate hundreds of houses – as in our top photo – and very affordable flats using a tried and tested design popular in the Gorbals district of Glasgow, the famous tenement, as seen in our second photo.

Both the houses and flats will involve working with leading Glasgow builder H'mungus McGrout – whose company slogan 'Once up, they stay up' is so respected in the Scottish city. The houses will be keenly priced while the flats should appeal to many needing very cheap housing in south east Cheshire and the nearby Potteries.

One property affected

Fortunately, only one existing domestic property is affected by this proposal, the home of David and Karen Gladman, which will be surrounded by the new development. Because of the planning blight likely to affect their home, APPI is delighted to announce the development will be called Gladman Villas in recognition of their sacrifice.

We cannot imagine the Gladmans will have any objection to this proposal to house so many poorer members of society as their company Gladman Developments Ltd have been arguing in numerous applications of their own that Cheshire East and many other councils need vast numbers of affordable housing in the coming years. As a well-known Cheshire East MP has been heard to say on a number of occasions: "We are all in this together".

Declared interest

We also have to declare publicly an interest in that APPI's project director's spouse is a planner working for the local council – but will not be involved in this application directly – as we twigged this was a potentially useful link for any development company a few years ago. This is explained in full in the Prospectus.

Allotment

The plans include a 4' x 3' allotment which, H'mungus McGrout has told us, has proved more than sufficient to meet the vegetable needs of the residents of similar sized schemes in Glasgow – indeed probably for the whole of East Glasgow on current consumption – while, as an indication of our social commitment, lettings for the tenement block will give priority to recently released young offenders.

If you would like further details, please contact me, APPI property investment director, Avril Foulière by April 30th. If, however, you would like to register an objection, our consultation period lasts until 8.31am this morning although we will consider comments received after that time at our discretion.

Remember, however, that your investment in APPI could rise or fall, unlike our buildings – as H'mungus' slogan says: 'Once up, they stay up'.
