McCarthy and Stone, a major "retirement" housebuilder, has submitted an application to develop land off Audlem Road, Audlem.
The land involved is part of the site for which Gladman obtained outline planning approval some time ago. The site has been taken over by Anwyl, builders, and the proposals by McCarthy & Stone take over part of that land.
The effect of putting in the proposed 25 retirement apartments would be to increase the number of properties from 120 to 135 and to remove, as we understand it, three of the "affordable" homes that were part of the original plan.
This plan, number 17/0339N, was the subject of several residents' meetings as well as a McCarthy & Stone consultation exercise. and has led eventually you a decision by Audlem Parish Council to oppose the plan.
You can see the planning application on the Cheshire East planning portal here.

Although the Parish Council are going to object to the plan, it is important that individual residents register their support or objections as well, and this can be done through the Cheshire East planning portal.
It is also important to understand that you cannot register a valid objection on the grounds that you just "don't like it" – there have to be valid planning reasons for your objection to have any weight. You can see other residents' comments on the planning portal, and there are several there (e.g. from 2 Copthorne Drive and from 20 Moorsfield Avenue) which provide good examples of objections.
The Parish Council have produced a document (click on the link below the photo) to explain what is and isn't a valid planning objection.
The Parish Council commented "The location at the edge of the village is clearly part of the issue but if people can also quote policies from the Neighbourhood Plan (such as affordable housing, parking requirements, design and infrastructure) it may strengthen their objection."
Note that you have until February 22nd to enter your support or objections.
