Prepare for snow, cold winds, thunder and lightning, heavy rain and possibly even tornadoes tomorrow. I hear you asking why. It's the start of the cricket season of course!

Audlem's cricketers once again take on the elements and eleven other teams in their respective divisions of the Cheshire Cricket Alliance.

1st XI

The 1st XI, once again led by Chris Shenton, travel to Birkenhead to take on newly-promoted Tranmere Victoria as they seek to gain promotion from Division 2. After finishing fourth, sixth, fifth and fifth in the last four seasons the team is hoping that new players Dave Morris and Callum Mcilveen will give them the impetus to gain one of the first two positions.

2nd XI

The 2nd XI, having consolidated their position in Division 4, entertain Warrington-based Rylands at the Gorse Croft. After winning Division 5 three years ago the team finished fourth in 2011 and sixth last season, only 21 points from promotion. As a win yields 25 points, last season was a tremendous success. Fledgling captain Danny Thorburn and veteran John Wainwright have joined forces to lead the team which reflects their mix of youth and experience. The match starts at 1.00 pm.
