A convicted rapist and robber who went on the run from his Cheshire home has been caught.

Felix Purcell, 43, was arrested yesterday in Gloucestershire 10 days after he disappeared.

South Shropshire residents were warned to look out for the man who was wanted on recall to prison after failing to adhere to his licence conditions.

Purcell had been released from prison in August, on condition he live at an address in the Sandbach area, be subject to an overnight curfew, and report to the authorities each the day.

Purcell, who had served time in prison robbery and rape went missing on October 8.

He had been jailed for nine years in 2009 for the violent robbery of an elderly couple near Chester and also has a previous conviction of six years in 1989 for raping a woman in her own home.
