As heard on BBC Radio 4 last Saturday, Luke Wright, is coming to Audlem today for a very special show.

"The best young performance poet around." The Observer
"One of the funniest and most brilliant poets of his generation." Johann Hari, The Independent.

This is an energetic, funny and at times, moving 90 minutes. Luke Wright is a poet in the vein of John Cooper Clarke, Roger McGough and John Betjeman. His poems are formal in their clever use of rhyme and metre but very modern in their subject matter, providing a pithy social commentary on everything from Raoul Moat to the sightings of the Essex Lion.

Between poems Luke proves to be a natural and laid back raconteur, talking about being a dad and living in rural Suffolk. His national tour takes in Leicester Square theatre, The Wenlock Poetry Festival and Audlem!

"Timely, patriotic, touching and consistently funny, this outstanding show marries form and content in a way that defies superlative and leaves a choking gap within you when it finishes." * * * * * The Scotsman
