As we drift away from the long warm days of a fine summer – one in which we in ADAS were pleased to have to be on watering duty in order to keep the blooms alive and well – a great change from last year when we suffered such an awful summer.

Now the chill is in the air and the leaves begin to turn. And I thought that it would be a good idea to see just how fine the hanging baskets and tubs and troughs have been this year – a year in which we, ADAS, achieved a record 4th Britain in Bloom Award in a row.

The judges obviously agreed with the vast majority of residents that this year's display was the best we have had for a few years.

The splendid begonias have provide their worth to the full. And can if left alone , bloom right through to the frosts.

I have been in touch with Muller Properties regarding the empty flower beds to the frontage of Kingbur Place and am pleased to say that ADSAS will take these over – and hopefully plant a display recording the 50th Anniversary of North West in Bloom.

Next year's plans are in an embryonic stage with new ideas being planned by members of the ADAS executive team.
