Up to nine days of online comments on the latest Gladman planning proposals may have not been received, admit Cheshire East Council.

A letter to residents of Audlem his weekend blames a website fault for a failure to log planning comments made in the nine days between October 8th and 16th.

The letter has triggered an angry response from residents with several messages on the Chatbox and widespread confusion at the latest situation.

Planners are now urging residents to resubmit comments yet again on duplicate plans (Gladman2) to build up to 120 new homes at Little Heath.

Cheshire East insists the website fault is now fixed and the deadline date for submitting comments online has now been extended to November 4th.

The letter from Principal Planning Officer Ben Haywood says: "It appears that any comments you may have submitted via our website during those dates may not have been received by the planning department."

This is not the first time that there have been complaints about the online submission of comments on planning applications .

Cheshire East promised "no more problems" with the website last July when complaints mounted up over the website over the original Gladman1 application.

In August residents protested when he submit button refused to work and web pages locked when making comments on the Mill Lane housing scheme.

AudlemOnline had noted the apparent lack of response to an appeal from Audlem Parish Council for those who opposed Gladman1 to resubmit their comments on Gladman2.

Although objections to Gladman1 have been 'copied over' to Gladman2 it is not at all certain that they will be accepted as, despite being virtual duplicates, the plans are still technically separate applications

My Haywood says any comments made by post or email have not been affected, only those made online between the October 8th and 16th.

"Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this website fault may have caused you," added Mr Haywood.
