Anyone recommend a taxi service from Audlem to Crewe station?

What a brilliant event. As a resident of Audlem and having participated in the event for several years I believe this years event was one of the best. I would like to thank ASSET and the army of helpers for making the event possible, (and run so smoothly). It’s great to see so many people coming into the village to watch and support the event, it’s also great to see the number of locals lining the road, all of the way from Hankelow, it really makes the event special. Finally a thank you to the Hankelow end, it’s great to assemble on the green and have an opportunity to start the day well fed with super bacon baps and coffee. Several drivers commented on the event and the great village we live in, events like this make Audlem special, long may it continue.

An umbrella was left in Kingbur Mill on Sunday 26th July. If it's yours, you can reclaim it at Williams Newsagents.

A couple of weeks ago he did some major tree surgery to my large flowering cherry tree and a pine tree. Two years ago I had him do similar work. He's a pleasant young man, cleans up after himself and at my request leaves me with all the chippings to add to my compost heap. He can also take it away if you wish. I have been happy with his work.

I strongly recommend Tom Evans. He and his dad (Dennis) have been trimming our hedges for several years. Very reliable, excellent work and always leave our garden looking clean and tidy,

It was wonderful to see so many attend George's funeral on Wednesday afternoon, sadly we were unable to attend as Jan's haematology appointment at McMillan clashed. But I'm pleased to say that the result was encouraging. George would have approved.

Hopefully many of you will have seen that we're holding an exhibition of art from Audlem St James Primary School this weekend and have a charity busking spot running on Saturday afternoon.

Although there is no parking available at the mill at any time (except for holiday guests), please could I ask that the forecourt is kept free of cars over this coming weekend. This weekend's holiday guests will have access to their parking space before and after the busking.

1-replace a heating element in an oven (already bought the element to be delivered)

2-secure an overhead cupboard to the wall as it's coming loose

3-remove and replace a bit of damp wood that attracted some insects in the kitchen.

Towards the end of May, there was a piano advertised – for FREE – in the Buy/Sell section. With the school holidays – and it being a busy time of the year, I was unable to ask the right people. ........ It is no longer on the site, but I wondered if there was a way that you could contact the 'seller' to ascertain whether they managed to 'find a home' for the piano – as, if not, we would be interested.
