Great article this morning by Peter Oxley. Really well described and must have been exhilarating!
Thanks Peter.
Has anybody seen the new charges for garden waste bin collection ! That is a jump in price , no wonder Cheshire east is one of the richest councils , so watch out for piles of garden waste near you and farmers gates, no doubt !! Next year .
...."who spent most of the time on his back with his legs in the air..." writes Michele.
Well Michele; if you hadn't also put in your post that you'd "recently moved into the area" I'd swear you were recalling an evening in The Bridge circa 1972 when I'd just learned to drink as that's what, after the first pint, I spent most of the evening doing! Until of course, Mr Albert Hopkins said something like "I think you've had enough lad".
To be honest, at the time, I didn't think I had had enough but remembering the reception I recieved when I finally made it back home, he was probably quite correct.
Glad you enjoyed your lunch and welcome to Audlem.
We have recently moved into the area and thought we would pop into the Bridge this week for some lunch. Just wanted to say what a cracking pub. Lunch was very good and very reasonable. We ended up staying longer as the locals were such good fun. We had a great afternoon and my husband fell in love with Stan the dog who spent most the time on his back with his legs in the air. Will definitely be back. Thank you
Very interesting post by Adrian today, i have always regarded ivy as a great benefactor to our wildlife, not least the bees and butterflies, as it`s their last feed of the season.
Many thanks on Twit Ashley my comment on him are not in anyway meant to offend him or anyone who is related to him ,I was just fascinated with the charm and nostalgia I suppose ,on Audlem’s lost character’s of the past Such a rich heritage, he is probably one of many who have faded into history Moley Hobson! the mole catcher is another famous Audlem character who was mentioned to me who I had never heard of……fascinating
I too highly recommend Huw. He is very professional, skilled and pleasant. I would not use anyone else.
Steph yet again you made me laugh. Having a struggle with many items you mentioned vacuum packs are my nightmare
along with pull rings on tins, that snap off, somehow I can manage the wine🍷!
Thanks for keeping us entertained your items are brilliant.
Thank you Jean could you tell me how to contact him please . Many thanks Lyn
I want to take this opportunity to update everyone on the number of vehicles monitored by the Audlem Community SpeedWatch between the 8th and 17th of October. 24 vehicles were found to have exceeded the speed limit, with recorded speeds up to 50mph. We still do not have enough willing volunteers to conduct additional checks. We are hoping that two more volunteers will come forward so we can carry out between two to three SpeedWatch sessions per week.
If you are interested in volunteering, please email me at gmacbrown@hotmail.com or call my mobile at 07377 623993.
Thank you.

There is a clock repair shop at Dagfields which may be able to help.
I have a natural wood, wall mounted Westminster chiming clock, which has suddenly stopped working. It’s been a few years since it was last serviced, but the gentleman who used to service it has now retired. Does anyone know of someone fairly local who does repairs or services this type of clock? Many thanks.
I have a new Samsung TV and surround sound speaker combo, and I can’t figure out how to set them up properly together. Anyone out there know of anyone with appropriate skills? It doesn’t have to be a pro. TIA
Does any one know of a good reliable carpenter please .
Can highly recommend Elkins Chimney Sweep

My predecessor at the pharmacy had an on going disagreement with Twit over a bounced cheque for 19 shillings and 6 pence, so he must have had a cheque book and so unlikely to have lived under a tauporlin.
Smithy having banned him from the shop enforced the ban with a collection of bad language one Saturday in 1985 .
Now my memory for familial links is known to be poor and I'm not wanting to be rude in any way but was he related to Prim and her floral sisters.
Beware there are thieves about. Our stables were broken into again, but the two pieces that were in there were too heavy or else they were disturbed as they left them behind outside. I have reported it to the police.
Anybody lost digital TV aerial signal lately for prolonged period?
