Youth Club Update

Don't rely on anything I say for accuracy!

It was not our last session in the hall last week, as I had tentatively announced. My most recent intelligence is that we will be able to have our first ever session of Youth Club in our new room on Wednesday 15th November.

What I can say with a certain amount of confidence is that we will be in there by Wednesday 22nd at the absolute latest. It may have been easier to keep quiet until we had a definitive date, but where's the fun in that?

Last week at Youth Club we did the famous runaround quiz with a ghostly theme and Caitlin did a spot of skull makeup on the willing. This is the girl that went to Comic Con in a costume designed to represent every version of Batman's Joker that there has ever been. Her passion for disguise is becoming legendary at Youth Club and we are gutted that she can't be at the grand opening to offer her henna tattoos to our visitors. Despite that she will be working her magic on our large blackboard wall before then hopefully.

We will be sending a note out to parents this week, about the grand opening of the Annexe and Youth Club room on Saturday 18th November. The headlines are that we will be running a special session of Youth Club that day, for a couple of hours from lunchtime. We will be making smoothies and popcorn (typical things we might do at a session) and selling these to visitors to raise funds for Youth Club. The room will obviously be open for visitors to wander in and out, or stay a while, whilst viewing the new building for the first time, and so we are hoping to get a good number of our members down on the day so that people can see the room in action.

This week at Youth Club (maybe our last in the hall!) we will be making Rock Monsters. Don't ask.

As ever, if you are Y7 or above you are very, very welcome. If you've tried us in the past and didn't like the bigness of the Public Hall perhaps you would like to give us another try once we are in our new and comfy room. There will be places to lounge, sit and chat, play pool and table tennis and just generally mingle with your mates.
