







The Parish Council is delighted to report that repairs to the Grade II listed monument in Audlem have been completed.
The lantern and cast iron column were removed, repaired, cleaned, painted and waterproofed, and placed back in situ on Monday.
It is wonderful to see the memorial back in pride of place in the centre of Audlem.

Note from John Baker concerning the Lymes on Woore Road Audlem
Historical Note:
The Lymes was the home of the original Dr. John Bellyse (1738 – 1828). He was part of an eminent local medical dynasty.
His son, Dr John Bellyse (1774 – 1850), also became a Doctor and and his grandson Dr. Richard Baker Bellyse (1809 – 1877).
Dr Richard Baker Bellyse has a memorial monument in Audlem Village Square.
The Lymes is available for sale via Baker Wynne Wilson and has an Open Day on the 12th September for visitors
