Young Audlem golfer breaks record

Ella McClintock, age 15, has won the Anniversary Trophy at Brookfield Golf Course with a gross score of 71, net 59.

This score is a new course record for ladies beating the previous best by one stroke.

Ella also won the competition for Lady Captain's Day with additional success in the longest drive, nearest the pin and achieving the only Birdie 2 recorded in the competition.

Ella will be playing in the English Girls' Championship at the end of this month. Then, it's on to the Northern Girls' Championship in mid-August.

Success, of course, has an impact on a golfer's handicap. Ella's has just been reduced to 9.3.
