Work on A525 and A529 today

Local roads campaigner Peter Oxley has been in touch again with Cheshire East about potholes and poor road surfaces in the area. He has now received the following email from a senior Highways officer:

"Good afternoon Peter.
I refer to your email yesterday, the A529 and A525 are due for a safety inspection early next week and we aim to repair any actionable defects with 24 hours. However, a patching crew will be addressing the A525/A529 issues you have mentioned tomorrow Saturday 9th March.

I can confirm that the A525/A529 and all other 'A' roads are inspected every two months.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention."

Hopefully, that will include work that is needed on the Hatherton bends – see our story yesterday from Liz Haughey about recent accidents and cars skidding at very moderate speeds on the poor road surface.
