There was a particularly interesting post on Audlem Online's Chatbox yesterday from 'Geoff's'. He said:
"On Moorsfield Avenue, we have a sewer blockage which has been diagnosed by Dynarod as being in the main road. Upon investigation we have been told that the sewer has never been adopted by our friends in United Utilities and that they are only responsible for where the sewer joins Whitchurch Road.
"Cheshire East say that it is the householder's responsibility to fix this problem. On questioning United Utilities it looks like most of the main estates in Audlem are in this situation, including large parts of Tollgate etc.
"We did have the sewers surveyed about six years ago and were assured they were built to the correct standards and would be adopted and put on the database. Obviously this hasn't happened.
"Has anyone else had a similar experience?"
If anybody has further knowledge or thoughts on this issue, please send them to editor@audlem.org">editor@audlem.org or the Chatbox. For example, have any recent purchasers of properties had this issue pointed out as a result of their solicitors' searches. And why, if what Geoffs has been told is accurate, weren't the sewers adopted when the roads were?
