The ever-popular series of short-ARS local walks continue tomorrow Saturday, June 25, with a pleasant five-mile woods, wetland and canalside walk led by Beryl Wilson.

The walk begins in Almington near Hales, and is no more than five miles in length. Walking from Almington to the canal at Peatswood via a wood and fields, which may well be muddy underfoot, the walk continues along the canal to Tryley Locks and then along a lane back towards Chipnal for approximately 3/4 mile before turning onto a public footpath alongside crops, then across two streams up towards Hales Church through a wetland/wildfowl area and returning to Almington along a lane, again for 3/4 mile.

There a several stiles on this walk, two of which are more difficult than normal to negotiate, and they may be rather overgrown. Dogs are welcome but they will need to be kept on leads for much of this walk.

Walkers gather at 9.30am in Audlem public car park before setting out.
