Welcome Back!
We have had a great start to our new school year together, children arrived smart and ready for their new year group to begin on Tuesday.

It was a delight to see our Reception children looking so proud of their school uniforms and they have started their year superbly this week joining in lunchtimes, assemblies and playtimes full of confidence.

All of our new Reception children have been given a Year 6 Buddy who is there as a link at break and lunch times and who will work with them at various points in the year.

Some Year 6s have become Nursery Buddies; these children are linked to our Nursery children and will help the Early Years team with some of the activities and work the children in Nursery experience this year.

Classes throughout school have started their new topics for this term which range from Farming to Traditional Tales and Prehistoric Britain and I have already seen some great work being done across school.

We have also welcomed Miss Danha and Miss Murie to our Key Stage 1 team and we are delighted to have them join our school.

Our new Head and Deputy Head Girls and Boys were elected this week, they are:

  • Head Girl -Ruby Preston
  • Head Boy – Elliot Ayers
  • Deputy Head Girl – Ruby Youle
  • Deputy Head Boy – Adam Rogers

We also have new Year Six Team Captains for this term, our Captains are:
Rowan – Ben Applin Lime – Emily Turner Alder – Ruby Youle Oak – Jay Gultekin

Congratulations on your new, important roles in school. I am looking forward to working with you during the year.

Tidy Team – this year we have introduced a weekly Tidy Team Award for the class which has kept their Learning Environment tidy and organised throughout the week.

We have two newly appointed Tidy Team Monitors in Year 6, Annie Goodwin and Fleur Varley, who carry out 'spot checks' throughout the week and meet to discuss their findings with me.

This is an idea that came from our School Council last year and all classes are eager to be the first to win the award next week. The winning class will be announced in Praise Assembly each Friday.
