Looking at Mr Perry's report this week, we see that Pearl class are learning about the use of Venn diagrams – in my day this was A-level if not degree stuff.
They are also talking about inventors such as Edison, John Logie Baird and Stephanie Kwolek – again in my day (living within a stone's throw of Alexandra Palace) the John Baird was the local pub where we went for illicit drinks after school.
And I have never heard of Stephanie Kwolek (a quick google reveals that she invented Kevlar fibre, which is made by spinning strands of polymer together. It's five times stronger than steel, doesn't rust, and makes a fabric that's difficult to pierce – you should be jolly grateful to AoL for enlightening you before your 6 year old grandchild makes you look a complete dunce).
