Erika Wenzel, the chief executive of the new Cheshire East local authority which will take over council services on 1st April 2009, has singled out Audlem as a place to visit in the coming months. In the Chronicle, she said: "In the coming months I am hoping to visit areas such as Audlem and see if we can improve their services."
As a result, Audlem Online launched the first of a series of Vote Polls on local council-provided services so some real feedback can be given to the new chief executive. Audlem is still thought to be the only community with the ability to run regular indications of local public opinion on a village website.
We have started by asking: "Are you generally happy with refuse collection arrangements." A small majority is so far expressing satisfaction but, recognising that any dissatisfaction could be down to a host of reasons that might vary from household to household, there is also a new Forum debate where more detailed responses can be posted.
Cast your vote now by clicking on 'Yes', 'No' or 'Unsure' and then on 'Vote Now'. If you want to post a comment on the Forum, click on 'Forum' on the top horizontal bar and then on the bold title: "Are you generally happy with refuse collection arrangements" where you can click on 'Add your comments' or read other people's comments.
