Environmental Group ADAPT has arranged a visit to the Anaerobic Digester at Reaseheath College and has spare places available.

The visit will take place on Saturday 7th May from 10.30am to 12.00 noon. Anaerobic digestion facilities have been recognized by the United Nations Development Programme as one of the most useful decentralized sources of energy supply.

The digester at Reaseheath converts cattle slurry, straw based manure etc. to biogas. Anaerobic digestion may well be able to play a significant part in renewable energy production by offering a way of converting farm waste into domestic energy through an entirely natural process.

This should be a very interesting visit for anyone interested in renewable energy. If you would like to come along, contact Susan on 811092 or at runaways@hotmail.co.uk">runaways@hotmail.co.uk as soon as possible.

ADAPT monthly meetings with speakers are held on the first Wednesday of the month at the Baptist Church in Audlem at 7.30pm – see Audlem Online's story yesterday about our May meeting.
