View on local housing development

Brittany Wright sent this message in response to the recent news about various planning applications, both pending and approved:

"Please can someone explain to me how the houses that are being build in the village will be affordable. The houses by Anwyl are priced from £250,000 which means a 5% deposit of £12,500. That's without the other fees on top.

Well done to the people who said yes to all this exclusive housing and not to starter homes for the local 1st time buyers!"

Perhaps it's time to think about the message when developers market housing as being 'exclusive'?
