Audlem drivers will do well to try and avoid the M6 and M54 in Staffordshire this weekend.

The Midlands' biggest music festival, the 2013 V Festival, is being staged at Weston Park in Staffordshire from 17th to 18th August.

With around 90,000 people expected to attend the event and over 25,000 vehicles anticipated to arrive on the Friday morning, the M6 and M54 are likely to be far busier than normal.

There will be extra Highways Agency traffic officer patrols on the M6 and M54 near to Weston Park to clear up any incidents and to help minimise disruption.

This morning, 16th August, the northbound exit at junction 12 of the M6 will be closed- with festival traffic diverted along the M54 to junction 3.

A one-way system along the A41 will direct traffic access to Weston Park from that point. Southbound traffic on the M6 will be able to leave at junction 12 where marshals and temporary signs will advise of the best route to the festival site.

Traffic is also expected to be very busy in the same areas on Monday morning as people head home from the festival.
