Audlem Parish Council would like to reassure residents that, having been mandated to do so, we are continuing to fight the proposal from Gladman Developments Ltd to build up to 120 houses at Little Heath on land off Audlem Road. Similarly, we are also opposing the plans to build 36 houses at Heathfield Road/Mill Lane.
Although we have passed the first hurdle by persuading the Strategic Planning Committee of Cheshire East Council to refuse the applications – or be "minded to refuse" in the case of Gladman's first application – there remains a lot more to do.
Members of the Parish Council's Planning working party are currently meeting on a weekly basis to monitor and discuss the situation, which changes as Appeals decisions are published.
Gladman's revised application is due to be heard on December 4th and Parish Councillors and others will attend to voice their objections. Also, Parish Councillors are working with Cheshire East's planning department personnel to put together CE's case at the Appeal which is due to be heard some time in the new year.
We have not yet heard whether Hockenhull Properties Ltd will lodge an Appeal on the Heathfield Road/Mill Lane application refusal.
