TV presenter Emma Grazette will make a guest appearance at a chilli festival near Audlem this weekend.

Chef Emma Grazette who fronts the Channel 4 show Spice Trip and will be giving two talks on chillis at the Dorothy Clive Garden on Sunday.

The event includes a chilli planting and propagation workshop; a chilli market selling plants, seeds, oils, sauces, chutneys, jams, drinks and spices; a fire breathing display; live music from Synergy Live Band; salsa dancing; yoga; henna body decoration; and spice inspired colouring and activities for children.

There will also be a prize 'Joules Brewery Chilli Eating Contest' where up to 15 contestants will be tested on their chilli chewing prowess.

Emma Grazette will also be judging the 'True Blue Bay Best Chilli Sauce Contest' and will be looking for the sauce with the best flavour, texture and blend. The lucky winner gets a luxury 7 night bed and breakfast stay for two on the Caribbean spice island of Grenada, in the Caribbean.

Two local Indian restaurants, Barn India and the Mirchi, will also be offering special discount vouchers to promote their restaurants.

Admission to this fundraising event is £3.50 per adult, free for children under 4 years and £2 for children 4 – 18 years and. Members of the Dorothy Clive Garden are admitted for free.

The event starts at 11.00am and ends at 5.00pm although the garden will be open as normal from 10.00am to 5.30pm on the day. The garden will then be open every weekend in October from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
